What I did
Section titled “What I did”Published the v1.0 design kit for a 3D-printed glare shroud that shades a face-up Uniden SDS200 display in a center console. The kit has a parametric OpenSCAD model, a Python STL generator, a 2 mm fit gauge, a print job sheet and full instructions, all downloadable from the project page.
What I learned
Section titled “What I learned”Uniden publishes the chassis size but not the display-window size, so the opening is an estimate. Making every dimension a parameter, plus a fit gauge that prints in about 15 to 20 minutes, keeps a wrong guess cheap.
Next step
Section titled “Next step”Measure the radio, print and test-fit the gauge, then update the defaults and release v1.1.
