|---|---|---|
| Control head mount | The Ben3DBuild Ford Overhead Mount for Whelen CCTL 6/7 (F-150 2015-2020) arrived on 5 Nov. I removed the sunglasses holder and fitted the 21-button head in the mount. The head cable route to the module under the rear seat is next | Control head mount |
| Tools | Bought 6 Nov: AstroAI 2000-count multimeter, WG-026 test leads, Gardner Bender EFT-15 fish tape, Gasenvan mounting tape, Romeda colored electrical tape, Ginsco heat shrink kit, and a haisstronica solder seal kit with a 350W heat gun. These replace the planned fish rods, separate heat gun, solder-seal pack and end caps | Parts list, bench test |
| Grille guard | 13 of my in-progress touch-up photos from 22 Oct: sanding, feathering and scuffing, then masked and painted | Grille guard |
| Upfit Studio | Versions 0.8.11 to 0.8.14: Command file “-4” stored as a test sample, harness labels wrapped at 32 characters, WireViz and Graphviz found in their install folders with a red warning when a diagram can’t be drawn, and no console window flashing for each diagram. Command file “-4” confirmed as a plain re-save of “-3” | Upfit Studio |
Status
Section titled “Status”- The multimeter is in hand, so the CanTrol bench test can start with measured current draws instead of blanks.
- On 1 Nov the Windows build of Upfit Studio 0.8.13 passed its tests on my PC (205 pass; one Tk start-up test failed once and passed on rerun), and all 18 harness diagrams drew. 0.8.14 is merged but not yet rebuilt on the Toughbook.
- Nothing on the truck is wired to the CanTrol yet, and nothing in the control plan is bench-tested.
